This edition incorporates the later text,ûTractat om Skepps-Byggeriet of 1775 (Treatise on Shipbuilding). Togetherûthese works are virtually a manual of design for various types of craft ofûthe period. There have been a number of editions of Chapman's work, Frenchû1779, English 1815, Russian; and in 1864 a German edition. In the 20thûcentury a number of reprints and extracts have been issued, however, thisûedition brings together the two works in an attractive and useable form.
