A long run with the years 1947 to 1967 bound in dark blue cloth, 1968 to 2008 in original stiff paper wrappers, a good clean set. AJS: The Mariner's Mirror is published by the Society for Nautical Research. Issued monthly from January 1911 to September 1914 (average 32pp per issue), then after World War One from July 1919 to December 1923. Since then it has appeared quarterly (average now 128pp per issue) and is still published on a subscription basis. Current issues typically include five papers, along with a notes and queries section, useful book reviews, and advertisments from leading booksellers and publishers in our field. Membership of the SNR prior to 1940 was around 500, however, in recent years it has grown to 1800. Long runs of the Mariner's Mirror are not often available, especially in bound state.
