About Our Store

London's only specialist naval and maritime bookshop

Originally established in north London in 1974, dealing by catalogue, we sold used and antiquarian books on all aspects of naval and maritime history. In 1984 we relocated to Greenwich and opened our first shop in Greenwich Market, however, by 1987 we had outgrown these premises and we moved to a larger shop in the town centre. We expanded our stock to include new books and gradually added related material such as ephemera and prints. In 2005 we had the opportunity to purchase a commercial property in Greenwich and we now operate from our new shop at 66 Royal Hill, Greenwich, London SE10 8RT.

The bookshop is open 10am-6pm Wednesday-Saturday inclusive (we do not close for lunch), we continue to issue catalogues (approx 4 per year), and now offer books through our website.

Greenwich has much to offer the visitor including the National Maritime Museum, Royal Observatory, the Cutty Sark, the Fan Museum, Greenwich Park, and the historic buildings of the Queen's House, the Painted Hall and Chapel. Greenwich can be reached by train on the Dockland Light Railway(DLR)which is connected to London Underground, or by suburban mainline train from Charing Cross Station (near Trafalgar Square). There are also a number of bus routes linking the town to central London (Nos 180, 188, 386, 177 & 53). If you are coming to us by car then there is ample pay-and-display parking opposite the bookshop. We look forward to meeting you - Anthony & Setitia Simmonds
