An uncommon set now.ŻHezlet (Vice Ad Sir A.) 1914-2007. Entered Dartmouth as a naval cadet 1928Żand after sea time as midshipman and sub-lieutenant he began his serviceŻin submarines in 1936. He served in them throughout the Second World War,Żcommanding six, including the famous Trident, Thrasher and Trenchant; heŻwas awarded the DSO and bar, the DSC and was twice mentioned inŻdespatches. After the war he was a member of the Naval Staff in theŻAdmiralty and was British Observer at the Bikini Atom Bomb trials. CaptainŻ(D) 6th Destroyer Squadron 1955-56; Director of the Royal Naval StaffŻCollege, Greenwich, 1956-57. Appointed Rear Admiral in 1957, he was FlagŻOfficer (Submarines) from 1959-61. In the latter years he received the CBŻand was appointed Flag Officer Scotland and Northern Ireland. In 1962 heŻwas promoted to Vice Admiral. In 1964 he received the KBE and retired fromŻthe Service.
