NMM Cat, Vol 2, Pt 1, entry 1370: Togo who studied at the Royal Naval College, Greenwich, served with distinction against the Chinese in 1894 and rose to command the Japanese fleet in the Russo-Japanese war. His mastery of naval strategy was decisively proved in the annihilation of the Russian Fleet in the Straits of Tsushima (May 29, 1905).
