viii + 51pp text, 2 text illus, separate section of 79 plates (60 in half tone, whilst 19 are colour tipped-in, all with overlays and one is folding), xliiipp catalogue at end, large handsome format (32cm x 26cm), original red cloth, gilt decoration to front board with title on spine and front board. AJS: Halton and Truscott Smith published a number of fine art books in our subject area in the 1920s, this title is no exception. The work is complete with a very detailed and annotated catalogue of the atlases, chart-books, etc., in the Macpherson Collection, for the period 1477-1924.
